We understand this is the most difficult and the most compassionate decision you can ever make for your pet. Mentally it's almost impossible to reconcile the two. It's never easy saying goodbye, but sometimes it is truly the kindest decision you can make for your loved one. We believe "you'll know when it's the best time" for you, your loved one, your family. 

We want to help navigate this moment. Our slow, unrushed approach gives you the amount of time you need to say goodbye the way you and your family prefer in an environment that's familiar and loving for your pet.

Regardless of what your veterinary team, or anyone else, says- only you can make the decision as to when it happens. Many times, the timing is thrust upon you, but many other times you'll have a feeling it's coming- a day, a week, a month. Personality may change some. Activity may diminish. Something will feel "off". Plan ahead when possible to avoid any last minute pressure to make a decision and second-guessing of yourself. Your vet can help you know when you're making the right decision and help you prepare for the unenviable task.

Make it a beautiful moment for you, your family, and your pet. In the days/ hours before, make great memories. Favorite foods, lots of pets, lots of cuddles, favorite toys- special memories. It's fitting that you all celebrate what they mean to your family. With lots of pets. If your decision requires immediacy, make what time you have as special as you can. With lots of pets.

Not everyone can emotionally endure these actions listed. Do not feel bad about your decision, if you can't participate this way. It's a very emotion-heavy moment and different people need different things from this moment. We want to be your partner in saying goodbye the way you need to.

It is our view that your presence is important to your pet. You are their human and their support in this moment- their safety in this vulnerability. They've been with you for a long time in many of your moments of need- we encourage you to be there for them now in their moment of need, if you can. Should you decide to participate emotionally, your doctor will advise you as to what will happen, and what you can do to help make your pet as comfortable as possible during this time. A favorite spot and a favorite bed with their favorite people helps.

We'll handle everything. As part of your booking, we'll set up your preferences for the whole visit ahead of time so you don't have to worry about anything in the moment except experiencing only positive memories surrounding this decision.
