If you know exactly what you prefer to do, we can schedule you directly via a phone call. Please reach out at (916) 545-5195.
If you would like to see or talk about any of our available options from our partners, we recommend a consult visit prior to appointment in order to discuss and finalize your choices ahead of time. This will help the day-of our appointment go more smoothly for you and your family, without the need for decision-making to distract from your moment.
The least favorite part of our job, but one filled with immense compassion and love.
This includes all amounts and materials necessary to conduct the service at your home and removal and transportation after. This does not include after care options, listed below, which can vary depending on your preferences.
State law requires a veterinarian to establish a relationship with a patient/ client prior to administering medicine/ care. As part of a scheduled euthanasia, we have to conduct an exam to adhere to this law. But we only charge 1/2 our normal rate. Existing clients avoid this charge as part of their ongoing scheduled appointments and visits.
Cremation and burial options.
Depending on our partner, Private Cremation (your pet is 100 % alone) or Individual Cremation (separated by large partitions to avoid comingling) is their default method. If you have a preferred option ahead of time, please let us know and we're definitely willing to direct your pet in the right direction to satisfy your personal preferences. Whatever your choice, we return your pet's ashes to you enclosed in a very nice wooden urn.

Communal cremation returns no ashes to you. Depending on the crematory used, the ashes are scattered in a spot over the Golden Gate Bridge, off the shore of San Diego, or on a private farm in Reno, NV.
This covers the costs associated with cremation of your pet's remains in a communal service where no remains are returned to you. Remains are scattered in a respectful area (location varies depending on crematory, see above).
Rather than cremation, your pet's remains are buried on a local crematorium's private land near Reno.
Our partners offer a variety of items you can order directly with them as additions to your service. We're happy to put you in contact with them to arrange these items, if you wish to choose any of them as an option.
Maybe it's for peace of mind, or maybe it's for one last celebration of life. Either way, our partners offer you the option of being present.
Have an opportunity to say goodbye one last time in an individually curated viewing for your family.
An imprint of your pet's paw.
If you stylistically prefer a different option, many choices are available to select from.
A proprietary process that images the microscopic crystals of your pet's ashes to create one-of-a-kind artwork.
Items like lockets, pendants, and other items are available to help memorialize your pet, if desired.
Many, many more options are also available and can be discussed with you during your personal consult, if desired.
